Let’s be honest… 2020 has been a hell of a year! I won’t get into political opinions and arguments on my blog but let’s just say, it hasn’t been a very happy 4 years what with Brexit and Trump. Enough said. Now you know where I stand. Then there’s the covid pandemic. This whole situation has been heartbreaking and isolating. My brilliant and beautiful sister is struggling with what doctors think is long covid. It’s awful. I can’t even explain. But I am one of the lucky ones. I still have my job and I have been able to pretty much carry on as always with covid restrictions in place at work. I haven’t suffered too much from the lockdowns as I am not really the sort who goes out a lot anyway and I’m not particularly into shopping! It’s the turmoil around the world which makes everything pretty tough for everyone. It’s been a pretty bad year.
In other news, it’s been a great year for my photography and for selling. Sales are picking up and I have reached my goal of at least one sale a week by the end of the year. I did it. I built my pinterest account to 35,000+ monthly viewers (I’d love it if you joined me there too). Now that I am regularly selling on Redbubble, I have decided to focus only on promoting my shop there. I have sold my photography and digital art on masks, tops, stickers, cards and jigsaw puzzles as well as the usual wall art. So that’s all brilliant news.
So now our thoughts are turning to 2021. I hope with all my heart that it will be so much better for everyone. I am mostly optimistic but the only thing I have real control over is myself so I will make some plans now. For sure I want to sell more. That means I will need to get better at social media. I am on Twitter but probably not tweeting enough. And I I will start a public Facebook page or group next year for promoting myself. Apart from that, I want to blog more. I’ve streamlined my website now as it was getting too muddled and I feel much more in control now. I want to spend more time taking pictures now which is where it all started. It’s easy to forget that that’s what it’s all about!
I am wishing you all a very happy Christmas in whatever way we have to make it happen this year. Look after yourselves and your friends and families. Stay safe. Take care and stay hopeful in 2021.
