The city is unstable, full of rage and inspiration and on the verge of collapse. But the beauty is there if you choose to see it

Cities are a necessary evil. Millions of humans crammed into small spaces and making the best of the situation. The city is unstable, full of rage and inspiration and on the verge of collapse. But the beauty is there if you choose to see it.

I walk this city, often for four or five hours at a time. I see so much and I take hundreds of pictures but what I FEEL is summed up in part by this collection.

A city full of fading hope. Building work started and abandoned, magnificent structures left to decay and fall. There is only one person in my images here but they are unimportant. Small and insignificant in the picture. As if they are an afterthought. Just passing through.

As I walk, I claim my place at its centre, making my presence felt. One day, I will be gone and the city will remain but I hope my footsteps will be heard on the concrete and stones I have loved and hated for so long.
